The 2026 Masters Home Internationals took place in Cardiff, Wales across Friday 8th and Saturday 9th May, with players from Wales, England, Scotland and Ireland competing in the Over 45s and Over 65s categories across both Cardiff Squash Club and Rhiwbina Squash Club.
Across three rounds of competition, the event delivered outstanding squash, close battles and a fantastic atmosphere throughout the weekend.
Round 1 – Strong Opening Night
Friday evening saw the opening round produce several closely fought contests across all four categories.
Men’s Over 45s
Wales opened with a narrow 3-2 victory over Scotland, while England edged Ireland by the same scoreline in another highly competitive tie.

Men’s Over 65s
Wales produced one of the strongest performances of the opening evening, defeating Scotland 4-1. England also impressed with a 4-1 victory over Ireland.

Women’s Over 65s
Both ties in the Women’s Over 65s category went down to the wire, with Wales defeating Scotland 2-1 and England narrowly overcoming Ireland by the same score.

Scotland opened strongly with a 4-1 victory against Wales, while England delivered a dominant 5-0 performance over Ireland.

Round 2 – Saturday Morning Battles
Saturday morning’s second round brought further drama as teams battled for position heading into the decisive final session.
Men’s Over 45s
Ireland produced an excellent display to defeat Wales 4-1, while England continued their strong form with a commanding 5-0 win against Scotland.

Wales continued their excellent form with a superb 3-0 victory against Ireland. England also secured a 2-1 win against Scotland.

One of the tightest ties of the weekend saw Wales battle to a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Ireland. England again showed their quality with a 5-0 win over Scotland.

Round 3 – Final Positions Decided
The final round on Saturday afternoon decided the destination of the titles across all four competitions.
Men’s Over 45s
Ireland finished strongly with a 5-0 victory over Scotland, while England secured the overall title ahead of Ireland and Wales.

Men’s Over 65s
England completed a perfect final round with a 5-0 win against Wales to secure the Men’s Over 65s title. Scotland also finished strongly with a 4-1 victory against Ireland.

Wales capped off an outstanding weekend in the Women’s Over 65s category with a superb 3-0 victory over England to secure the title. Scotland also edged Ireland 2-1.

Outstanding Performance
One of the standout achievements of the weekend came from the England Women’s Over 45s team, who delivered a perfect performance across the event, finishing with the maximum possible 60 points after winning every match throughout the competition.

The event once again showcased the quality and spirit of Masters squash across the Home Nations, with excellent support across both venues throughout the weekend.
