SQUASH WALES APPOINT SALLY BARKER TO THE BOARD

Squash Wales (SQW) would like to welcome Sally Barker to the Board

SQW Chairman Phil Brailey “We are excited and pleased to welcome Sally on to the Board. Sally’s skills and expertise, together with her professional presence in the sporting arena will be of significant value in the execution of the strategic goals of Squash Wales. The commercial expertise Sally brings to the Board, in addition to her passion for the sector will be of significant value and we look forward to working with her closely in the future”

Sally “I am delighted to be welcomed on to the Board. This is a new and exciting challenge for me within the sports sector and is an opportunity that gives me huge potential to influence the game of squash in Wales, especially ahead of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022. I am looking forward to seeing how I can combine my commercial expertise with my passion for grassroots sport to make a positive impact on the game going forward.”

Sally Barker Bio

Sally is a highly experienced leader, passionate about the entire sports and fitness spectrum across corporate, sports retail and large-scale community engagement. At Sport England, Sally manages multi-million-pound investment into key strategic National Governing Bodies of Sport, to drive grass-roots participation in sport and physical activity.
Prior to this, Sally founded a Sports Injury business, growing the business over 8 years across Lancashire and Yorkshire and leading, managing and developing a team of 10 staff members, creating a successful business venture and an inspiring working environment.
Sally’s professional career started in sports and leisure apparel, in Sales and Account Management at Reebok UK, moving through various roles before taking a senior sales role at Levi Strauss.
Sally is a qualified Sports Therapist and has provided massage support to elite athletes to achieve success at Olympic, Paralympic, World and European events. Sally was selected to work at the Paralympic Games in Rio in 2016, where she supported athletes to achieve a record-breaking 147 medals.
Sally is involved with mentoring local entrepreneurs in the North West to grow their business start-ups specialising in the health and fitness industry.
