Over the weekend, the courts were set alight with the intensity and spirit of the competitors at the Karakal Welsh Senior Closed 2023. This iconic tournament brought together the crème de la crème of Welsh Squash, with over 60 players battling it out in five enthralling events.

As a testament to the level of play and the progress many players have made, we incorporated real-time updates to Squash Levels, a platform that tracks and analyses performance metrics for squash players. One of the highlights of the weekend was the commendable progress displayed by Brandon Burnett. He set a new benchmark for improvement, skyrocketing his performance level by a staggering 25%. This feat demonstrated not only his commitment to the game but also the quality of competition that the tournament attracted.

Other standout results came from Alex Wilkins, Tony Baird, Steven Noot, Evan Hodge and Millie Breach. In just a single match, they managed to escalate their Squash Level scores by a 10% increase. These results were not just a win on the scoreboard but a testament to their exceptional skill and determination on the court.

Amidst the fierce competition, the crowning moments came when we recognised our champions. Joel Makin displayed a masterclass performance throughout the weekend, securing the Men’s Championship title. On the women’s side, the formidable Lowri Roberts clinched the Ladies Championship, showcasing her prowess and determination.

The energy and enthusiasm were palpable throughout the weekend. Every match was a testament to the dedication and passion each player has for squash. Moreover, the impeccable attitude of the participants made the event memorable. Whether it was a hard-fought rally or a friendly exchange at the end of a match, the spirit of the game shone brightly.

In closing, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants. Your support and participation are what makes the Karakal Welsh Senior Closed such a monumental event. Here’s to another year of great squash, and we hope to see everyone again at the next edition.

Thank you for an unforgettable weekend!
