Squash Wales Regional Teams gathered at Redlands Green in Bristol and the Lansdown Club in Bath for the annual British Junior Intercounty Championships—a cornerstone event that provides Welsh juniors with the invaluable opportunity to compete on the national stage.
This year’s event was particularly rewarding, as it saw a significant number of new caps being awarded to players representing Wales at the regional level for the first time. This reflects the ongoing growth and development of junior squash within Wales.
Squash Wales entered teams across several categories, including:
- Boys & Girls Under 11
- Under 13
- Under 15
- Boys Under 17
The tournament yielded fantastic results, with many teams achieving historic milestones:
- Main Finals:
- Boys U13 team
- Girls U13 and U15 (both A & B teams—a first-ever accomplishment!)
- Plate Finals:
- Boys U11
- Boys U15
- Boys U17
The players, parents, and coaches are now eagerly looking ahead to the Finals Weekend in Sheffield this coming March. This event highlights the dedication and talent of everyone involved in the Squash Wales community.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the coaches—Greg Tippings, Sally Davis, Rich Wright, and Chris Powell—for their hard work and leadership. We also extend our gratitude to the players and parents for their unwavering support and commitment to this essential event.
Well done to all who participated, and good luck to the teams competing in Sheffield!
