Tournament Report – Masters Home Internationals 2025 Wales

14th May 2025

Masters

Squash Wales was proud to host the Masters Home Internationals 2025 in Cardiff. This year’s event welcomed top talent from across the home nations in four fiercely contested age categories: Women’s Over 35/40s, Women’s Over 60s, Men’s Over 60s, and Men’s Over 40s.

The tournament took place across two superb venues – Cardiff Squash Club and the Sport Wales National Centre. Play commenced on Friday, May 9th at 3:30pm, with the opening session setting the tone for a weekend of high-quality squash and spirited competition. After an action-packed first round of matches, players enjoyed a warm hot buffet meal together – a perfect chance to unwind and reconnect with old friends and rivals.

Saturday’s schedule began at 9:30am with Session 2, continuing the momentum as teams battled for position. A buffet lunch was served at Cardiff Squash Club, keeping players fuelled for the final push. The decisive Session 3 began at 2:30pm, delivering drama, passion and no shortage of squash excellence as teams fought for national pride in the closing fixtures.

The weekend culminated in a fantastic celebration dinner at Leonardo’s Hotel, where players and guests dined, drank, and danced late into the night – the perfect way to round off a memorable weekend of sport and camaraderie.

A huge thank you goes to:

  • Our dedicated referees for their professionalism throughout
  • The hardworking Squash Wales staff
  • The Masters Committee for their support in organising and planning
  • Cardiff Squash Club and Sport Wales National Centre for being outstanding hosts
  • Leonardo’s Hotel for a wonderful evening event and accommodation
  • And most importantly, to all the players – your passion, sportsmanship and commitment are what make this event truly special.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year for more Masters magic!
