C Grade Champion: Kayden Roberts
Congratulations to Kayden Roberts, who was crowned C Grade Champion after defeating Richard Evans in a highly competitive final.
The C Grade produced some excellent squash, with every match fiercely contested and plenty of quality play on display. There were fantastic rallies, great determination and a strong competitive spirit throughout the competition.
One particularly remarkable feature of the tournament was the age range of the players. Kayden aged just 13, and Stephen Evans, aged 79, represented an incredible 66-year age gap between competitors. It was a great example of squash being a sport that can be enjoyed and competed in across generations.
A huge well done to Kayden on winning the C Grade, and congratulations to Richard on reaching the final. Thanks also to everyone who took part and helped make it such an enjoyable and competitive grade.
B Grade Champion: Richard Jones
With very little separating the players in terms of squash ability, the B Grade was always going to be difficult to predict, with anyone capable of coming out on top.
Ultimately, it was Richard Jones who emerged victorious, defeating fellow Hirwaun player Lee Thomas in the final. Richard’s excellent fitness and dogged determination proved decisive when it mattered most, earning him a well-deserved B Grade title.
There was also plenty of promise on display from the juniors, with Tyler Price, Zoe Powell and Gethin Poole all showing real talent, skill and ability throughout the competition. Their performances suggest there is plenty more to come from these young players as they continue to develop.

A Grade Champion: Lewis Poole
The standard of squash achieved in the A Grade was arguably the highest seen at the club for many years, with some outstanding matches showcasing the quality and depth of talent on display.
It was Lewis Poole came out on top, marking a welcome return to form with victory over the ever-determined Ollie Jones in the final. Lewis produced some excellent squash throughout the competition to secure a well-deserved A Grade title.
The match of the day came in the semi-final between Ollie Jones and Mumin Bilen. In an incredible battle that went right to the wire and then beyond Ollie showed remarkable resilience, saving seven match balls against the extremely talented Nottingham University player before eventually securing his place in the final.
It was a fantastic display of skill, fitness and mental toughness, and a fitting highlight of an A Grade that produced squash of an exceptionally high standard.
Congratulations to Lewis on his victory and well done to all the players who contributed to such a memorable grade.
Tournament Summary
This was a fantastic tournament from start to finish, with all the very best qualities of squash on display: determination, skill, sportsmanship and fair play.
Across all three grades, there were outstanding matches, memorable moments and strong performances from players of all ages and abilities. From junior talent coming through to experienced players continuing to compete at a high level, the tournament reflected the strength and spirit of the club.
A massive thank you from everyone at the club to all those who played, supported and helped make the event such a success. Your enthusiasm, commitment and sportsmanship made it a tournament to remember.
